I practice from a social work perspective, seeing the individual as a whole and part of a system. I will meet you (metaphorically) wherever you’re at and together we can work through whatever challenge(s) you may be experiencing.
I also practice from a strengths-based perspective, integrating different modalities (Client Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Progressive Counting, etc.) to find the best fit for you.
I believe in the therapeutic alliance and recognize the importance of the client-therapist relationship and trust. I believe you know yourself & have the ability to heal. My hope is that together, we can identify new tools or ways of being that will lead to a more balanced and fulfilled life.
Education & Experience:
I earned my Bachelor’s in Social Work (2006), Master’s in Social Work (2008) and then became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2010. I have been working in the nonprofit sector in Juneau since 2008. Initially I provided counseling, working predominately with at-risk youth who had significant trauma histories. I switched my focus to prevention (suicide and childhood trauma) and I recently decided to pivot back to counseling. I am excited to open a private practice and look forward to working with you.
